Katie Pollman serves as a member of the Climate Ready Hawaiʻi cohort, which helps Hawaiʻi adapt to climate change impacts. Pollman oversees the coordination of transportation equity-focused initiatives at the Department of Health, researching transportation and health policies, providing outreach and engagement for vulnerable communities, and developing educational products on climate change.
Pollman attended the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and minored in Chinese Studies in 2021. She previously worked as an intern with the Press Office in the East Asia and Pacific Affairs Bureau with the U.S. Department of State in the Spring of 2020 and as a legislative intern with the U.S. House of Representatives the following summer. She was a Research Fellow at the Hume Center for National Security and Technology at her alma mater, producing policy recommendations to the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations.
