Watch this space for Hawai‘i’s big climate bash!
Hā o ke Kai literally means the breath of the sea, and more poetically, that we are one with the ocean, and go where it takes us—in this case, towards pioneering a response to adaptation and mitigation challenges that lie before us in Hawai‘i. This conference is the product of a broad climate change initiative of the State of Hawai‘i and its many partners. The purpose of the conference is to take stock of our collaborative actions thus far in climate change mitigation and adaption, and to identify our next steps to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions and implement climate adaptation actions. A keynote will set the tone—of a clean, equitable and resilient future for Hawai‘i; three panels will grapple with the most difficult questions to get us there.
Another major purpose of this conference is to call upon our partners at the national, state, and county levels, as well as the private sector, to continue collaborating on these ambitious initiatives. Hā o ke kai. Let’s innovate together!
