Dan Dennison is the Senior Communications Manager for the Hawaii DLNR, responsible for all communications leadership and initiatives.  Prior to joining DLNR in 2014, Dennison worked for more than four decades as a radio and television reporter and photographer. He spent most of his 25-year-long reporting career covering Western Colorado for KUSA-TV in Denver. He moved into television newsroom management in 1996 and served as News Director at six TV stations across the country. He has received multiple Emmy’s as well as many state and national journalism awards. Dan just completed a term as a board member for the Association of Conservation Information and is the current Chair of the communications network of the Council of Western State Foresters.  He has a BA in technical journalism from Colorado State University and a MA in journalism media management from the University of Missouri at Columbia.
