Raised on O’ahu, Jamie Stroble now lives in Seattle and works for King County’s Climate Action Team as the lead for community partnerships, climate equity and communications as it relates to the Strategic Climate Action Plan across all county agencies. Her role builds alliances with public, private, and civic sector partners to develop community-driven climate solutions and shape decision-making in ways that advance equity and social justice. She led community partnerships to co-create climate change infographics in Spanish, Chinese, Arabic and Samoan using culturally relevant examples, with more languages to come. She also created the Climate & Equity Community Task Force that is shaping climate justice policy and community priorities for King County’s next 5 year Strategic Climate Action Plan.

Prior to working in local government, Jamie worked for a non-profit empowering Asian Pacific Islander (API) youth and immigrant elders around environmental justice and community development issues. She has also worked in leadership development with youth & young professionals, in affordable housing, and with Northwest native tribes around traditional foods access and air quality impacts on environmental health.  Jamie currently serves on the Seattle Planning Commission, and was a founding member of the City of Seattle’s Environment & Equity Initiative Community Partners Steering Committee, a precedent-setting initiative to involve those most impacted by climate change in city environmental policy. She stays connected to community as a coach for her outrigger canoe club, Hui Wa’a o Wakinikona, and by serving on several API community boards.
