WELCOME TO THE HAWAIʻI CLIMATE CHANGE PORTAL
Hurricane season is here
June 1st officially kicked off hurricane season. As climate change continues to drive shifts in global weather, patterns like El Niño can play a major role in making hurricanes across the Pacific more severe. Warmer ocean temperatures act as fuel for these storms, while shifting wind patterns can amplify storm development, intensity, and heavy rainfall across our islands.
How are you and your ʻohana staying prepared?
